DESCRIPTION:\nPlease join us for a conversation with Attorney Abigail Earthman of Winstead PC.  Learn how a new disruptive technology and asset was mysteriously created, potentially impacting the future of everything.  This presentation will address the basics of what blockchain, bitcoin and cryptocurrency are, their effect on transactions, tax and non-tax issues, and how to plan with this special type of asset for wealth transfer planning purposes.  \n \n \n \nAbigail Earthman is a member of Winstead's Wealth Preservation Practice Group.  Abigail handles federal gift and estate tax litigation against the Internal Revenue Service across the country, as well as state and fiduciary probate controversy work in Texas courts.  She also counsels clients nationally regarding complex estate administration and litigation and audit risk minimization.  \n \nShe is a Fellow of the Real Property, Trust and Estate Division of the American Bar Association, where she serves as Chair of the Tax Litigation and Controversy Committee and the Digital Property Committee.  Abigail is also an ACTEC Dennis I Belcher Young Leader.  Abigail received her J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law and an LL.M in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.  She has represented clients before the United States Tax Court and United States District Courts in the Northern and Southern Districts of Texas. \n \nAdditional Meeting Information:\n  \nAgenda: 5:30 networking reception followed by a 6:15 dinner and speaker presentation.\n   \nWe look forward to offering this in-person event and hope you will attend.  If you are uncomfortable attending in person at this time, we are offering a virtual attendance option.  Links to the virtual event will be provided as we near the event date.\n   \nDane County remains under a Covid-19 mask mandate until January 3, 2022, and all required protocols will be followed.  In-person attendees will be required to sign an attendance waiver (as provided by the NAEPC) in order to attend in person.\n   \nOnce final dinner numbers have been provided to the Madison Club, refunds will not be given for in-person cancellations, or conversions from in-person to virtual attendance.  Attendance numbers are provided to the Madison Club one week in advance of the event.\n  \n \n \n \n
